GOAL: Northern New Jersey has a need for organized tournaments to be held amongst its golfers. Northern New Jersey Open Golf is willing to take the lead.

NNJOG will provide the organization of these tournaments, which will be held in an efficient and timely manner weekly.

We are looking to attract all level of golfers with the desire to compete and improve their ability.

With support from the Northern New Jersey Golf community, our goal is to retain 200+/- members initially. With a minimum of 60-110 members participating in tournaments each week.

  MISSION: The purpose of Northern New Jersey Open Golf is to provide guaranteed play for golfers in the area to compete and learn locally.

Members will receive two main services... Organized tournament golf (on a weekly basis throughout the golf season) and the vehicle for learning and improving their golf game.

Weekly Tournaments: Allow members the ability to play with new and existing golf buddies. Playing varying courses in a tournament environment will improve your golfing ability and give you the opportunity to meet and create business partners in a fun and exciting atmosphere.

AWARDS: Cash and/or prizes will be awarded for longest drives, closest to the pin on designated par 3's, and lowest gross and net finishers. Player of the Year, decided by members; Vardon Trophy, for lowest net average; Hagan Trophy, for most match play wins;Hogan Trophy, for lowest gross average. (9 Event minimum required for year end awards).

No Waiting Hours to Play: No more looking all week to find out where you will play on the weekend. WINTER IS LONG ENOUGH!!! During the golf season you should be playing golf not waiting to play. After registering each week, members will have a tee time provided to them, needing to just show up, pay, play, and have a good day.

Beautiful Courses: Northern New Jersey has many beautiful courses to challenge players of all abilities. Each week members will be given an opportunity to hone their skills on the hills and wooded courses of Northern New Jersey.

Learn from PGA Pros: Members have the opportunity to learn from local PGA instructors at a discounted rate and participate in golf clinics provided throughout the year.

NNJOG will continuously make an effort to provide it's members with discounts, opportunities to receive instruction, and facilities to improve their games through it's network of golfing professionals. Members are also notified of discounts on golfing equipment, apperal, clubs, and accessories.

Northern New Jersey Open Golf is open to all amateur golfers from scratch to 30+ handicaps.

Members must have a valid USGA handicap; one can be provided for those without one.

Members will play by USGA Rules and be capable of completing a round of golf within course time restraints.

Regardless of golfing ability, each member has a chance to win as most of the events will be flighted. (meaning groups will compete based on handicap range)

Tournament formats

Individual: The majority of the events will be individual net and gross. Each flight will have a winner based on net score. One individual will win the entire event based on gross score.

Match Play: Each event will have a net match between two players; where each winners will gain points for end of year awards.

Team Play: Periodically there will be team events where two players team up vs. another two person team.
